Marketing, Advertising and Propaganda

To me, marketing, advertising and propaganda are all pretty different from each other.I think that marketing is the broad term to describe the  plan behind a good or service to get people to know about it. It uses different advertising and propaganda techniques to do this.
I think that advertising is made up of the tools which are used to get a product out there to the public. Advertisements show the highlights of the product that will most likely get potential buyers to actually buy it. This can be done in a poster or flyer, or a commercial or even when a telemarketer calls, etc.
In my opinion, propaganda on the other hand is very different. This is because it leads people on and is often biased. Propaganda is used to get the public to think something is better than it actually is. It is often used in politics to promote a certain view or cause.

But are there similarities to advertisement and propaganda?
